Behind the Fence is an original mixed-technique acrylic painting by artist Jasmina Mendoza, created through a meticulous, layered process that blends abstract expressionism with geometric design. The artwork began with a dynamic black-and-white acrylic base, brushed freely across 300 gsm textured paper to build movement and depth. Once completely dry, Jasmina applied tape in a diagonal lattice pattern — the same process shown in her personal studio video — creating structured squares that transform the energy of the background.

Inside each taped square, she painted luminous blue tones to evoke sky, openness, and distant light. The final layer features hand-painted golden rings and leaf motifs, symbolising nature, growth, and what lies beyond the barrier — the beauty “behind the fence.” The result is a vibrant, reflective piece that feels both architectural and organic.

This artwork is varnished for protection, signed by the artist, and sold unframed, allowing you to choose a frame that suits your personal space.
