Born from Stars — Original Mixed Media Abstract Painting by Jasmina Mendoza
Born from Stars is an original 40 x 40 cm mixed media abstract painting by Jasmina Mendoza, created with acrylic paint and acrylic inks. This expressive contemporary artwork explores energy, movement and the feeling of something new emerging from darkness.
The composition begins with a deep blue-black background, dramatically interrupted by fluid explosions of red, orange and fiery tones. These spontaneous areas were created with acrylic inks, allowing the colours to flow, spread and form unexpected organic patterns. In contrast, geometric circles, vertical forms, sweeping curves and fine lines bring structure and balance to the energetic background.
Soft peach and blush tones introduce a quieter, almost celestial quality, while textured circular forms suggest planets, moons or distant worlds. Fine lemon-yellow lines travel across the composition, shifting visually toward luminous yellow-green where the transparent colour passes over the deep blue background. This natural interaction between layers creates subtle colour changes that become especially noticeable when viewing the painting up close.
Texture is an important part of Born from Stars, with raised, tactile surfaces contrasting against the fluidity of the inks and the sharper geometric elements.
Bold yet atmospheric, Born from Stars reflects the tension between chaos and order, darkness and light, spontaneity and intention — a visual interpretation of creation, transformation and new beginnings.
