My Own Pace contemporary abstract by Jasmina Mendoza

My Own Pace is an original 50 x 70 cm contemporary abstract painting on canvas by artist Jasmina Mendoza. Created with acrylic paint and mixed-media techniques, this one-of-a-kind artwork explores the emotional experience of time, routine, pressure, and the freedom of moving through life at your own rhythm.
The composition combines geometric abstraction, circular forms, metallic gold and silver accents, structured lines, and a softly blended atmospheric background in rich shades of blue, violet, turquoise, and deep navy. The contrast between the precise geometry and the fluid background reflects the tension between external expectations and personal freedom.
The idea for My Own Pace came from the feeling that time can move painfully slowly during work, yet seem to disappear quickly during moments of rest, creativity, and personal life. Rather than using a literal clock, the circular forms and repeated lines suggest cycles, movement, waiting, and the passage of time in a more symbolic way.
The painting is signed and varnished, helping protect the surface while enhancing the depth of the colours and metallic details.
