The Secret Letter in the Garden – Contemporary Mixed Media Painting by Jasmina Mendoza
The Secret Letter in the Garden is an original 30 x 30 cm contemporary mixed media painting on canvas by Jasmina Mendoza, created with collage, acrylic colours, and acrylic impasto paste.
This painting was inspired by tenderness, memory, and the quiet companionship animals bring into our lives. As someone who has pet rabbits, I wanted the rabbit to feel more than decorative. It represents gentleness, trust, sensitivity, and the peaceful presence that rabbit owners know so well.
Surrounded by soft florals, vintage-style handwritten fragments, muted pinks, lavender, violet, cream, and touches of gold, the rabbit appears almost as if it has wandered into a private garden filled with memories. The layered collage and impasto texture create depth and a tactile surface, while the old letter fragments suggest stories that have been carried through time.
The style combines contemporary mixed media, botanical collage, expressive floral art, vintage-inspired symbolism, and romantic abstraction.
This one-of-a-kind artwork may especially appeal to rabbit lovers, pet owners, collectors of animal art, and anyone drawn to nostalgic, emotional, nature-inspired interiors.
